Scenario
The Jackal is an elusive assassin who makes his living by carrying out hits for the highest reward. He soon meets his match in a tough British intelligence officer who tracks him down in an exciting cat-and-mouse chase across Europe. The "Day of the Jackal" The novel is set in 1963 and featured the assassination of then French President Charles de Gaulle.
Remake of Day of the Jackal (1973)
In the beginning, I noticed some confusion about "Day of the Jackal" many confuse it with the remake of the 1997 film “The Jackal”. Starring Bruce Willis and Richard Gere. It’s funny how this misconception has led some to label this series as bad without giving it a proper chance.
Five episodes in and I have to say, this is a solid show
As someone who prefers 6-8 episode miniseries, I sincerely hope this avoids the stupid cliffhanger and 39;doesn’t try to stretch the story unnecessarily into a second season. I would have preferred all the episodes to be released at once; this would heighten the sense of realism, increasing the tension and visceral intensity of the plot. There is an interesting quality that makes one feel that the story might not be entirely fictional after all.
However, my biggest concern is with the casting of the female lead
He feels bad about his role as an MI6 agent; neither his personality nor his physique match what I imagine such a character to be. Although he’s meant to represent the opposite side of the moral spectrum, he comes off as awful – more morally corrupt than the titular Jackal. It made me hope for the fall rather than root for it, which detracts from the overall enjoyment of the series.

Nevertheless, "Day of the Jackal" has potential and is worth checking out.. The "Silo" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
